Are you planning a trip to one of the Serena & Lily outlet stores? I am a huge fan of their classic coastal brand and have visited the outlet in Bluffton, South Carolina several times.
I am sharing my best tips to help you make the most of your shopping trip, whether you are local or traveling.
So you want to save money at Serena & Lily? Me too! This luxury brand is not cheap, and I am always browsing their site for online sales and deals.
Serena & Lily is one of my favorite places to shop for coastal-chic furniture and decor, so I was very excited when it was announced that an outlet was opening near me a few years ago.
Now, I try to visit a few times a year to check out the great deals and share them with you!

If you see something you like I found at the outlet, many of the outlet items are available to shop online at regular retail price (unless there’s an online sale).

This information is based on my shopping experience at the Bluffton, South Carolina store (located just outside of Hilton Head). There are five Serena & Lily outlet locations, and hours, policies, and pricing may vary.
These are my top tips for shopping at the Serena & Lily outlet stores.
Whether it’s your first time or not, these insider tips will help you plan your next trip and make the most of your visit!
1. Some days are better to shop than others.
The amount of inventory depends on when you go and if there was a recent sale.
I recommend going on the first day after they get a new shipment. Tuesday or Friday are usually the best days at the South Carolina location. It’s a great idea to keep this in mind when planning your trip!

This is what the outlet looked like on a Wednesday afternoon in September 2023 for reference.

2. Use Google Lens to price check in the store.
Serena & Lily outlet prices are on average 50% of the retail price (listed on the Serena & Lily website). You can use Google Lens to price check while in the store and see what kind of deal you are getting – as long as the item hasn’t been discontinued.
Google Lens is a mobile app you can download on your phone, and it is a quick and easy way to reverse search an image to pull up the product listing online.
3. Special outlet sales are the best time to shop.
Did you know the outlets have special sales on top of their already discounted prices?
This is the best time to shop and score top markdowns. There is almost always a big sale with unbeatable prices around the holidays (Memorial Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, etc). They aren’t always advertised, but follow their social media.

This is one of the special sales the South Carolina outlet location was running in late September 2023.
4. Keep an eye out for new arrivals.
The outlets even get new Serena & Lily pieces! This color of the Riviera stools is new this year, and I was shocked to see it at the S&L outlet in early 2024, especially since it is one of their best-selling items.
There wasn’t anything wrong with it that I could tell, so it was likely used for staging or a photoshoot.

6. Don’t overlook the bedding.
I think bedding and pillow covers are the best deals. Bedding is priced based on the size and style (king duvet covers, queen sheets, Euro shams, etc). For example, quilts are currently priced at $75 for twin, $125 for full/queen, and $150 for king/cal king.
Bonus: bedding and pillows are easy to travel home with!

7. They don’t ship or hold items.
They don’t ship and usually don’t hold, so be prepared to bring items home the same day, especially if you are flying in. I have seen people bring U-hauls for large furniture!

8. Check items very closely before you pay.
Check items closely for damage/imperfections. There are no returns at the outlet. Sometimes prices for second-quality items are further reduced and sold “as-is” based on the amount of damage.

9. You can find outlet-worthy deals online!
Not near an outlet store, but still want to save money at Serena & Lily? You can’t shop S&L outlet deals online, but the Serena & Lily website has a clearance section that is a great place to find hidden gems.
Online clearance deals are sometimes close to outlet pricing, especially when they have free shipping! Like the outlet stores, around the holidays are good times to shop online at Serena & Lily.
I post Serena & Lily sale updates on my Instagram page, or you can join Serena & Lily’s email list for VIP sale alerts.
Conclusion
I hope these tips give you an idea of what to expect at a Serena & Lily outlet store. No matter what you are looking for, they have so many coastal-inspired pieces for your whole house, from outdoor furniture to side tables and light fixtures to bedroom furniture.
If you love rattan pieces as much as I do, shopping at this luxury retailer’s outlet store is one of the best ways to find great deals without the hefty price tag!
