The History of Tuckernuck
Tuckernuck is a home and lifestyle brand started by Jocelyn Gailliot, Madeline Grayson, and September Votta. Maddy and September were old college friends. Jocelyn is Maddy’s older sister, who joined the tribe!
Tuckernuck is named after a small island off the coast of Nantucket. Inspired by curated boutiques, the brand was created in 2012 to make shopping feel easy and exciting. Tuckernuck is known for its timeless style and has become a go-to destination for classic silhouettes and designs.

Tuckernuck Sizing Information
One of the most frequently asked questions when I share Tuckernuck is, “What is the sizing like?” And my answer is always, “It depends!” Sizes vary and range from XXS to XXXXL with Tuckernuck.
Later in the post, I’ll share my sizing experience with each of the Tuckernuck dresses I own, along with some of the most popular styles that you can almost always expect to find on their site.
There is a “Size Guide” button with generic sizing information for their entire site, which is useful as a starting point.
One thing I’ve found very helpful is clicking the “SIZE & FIT” tab under each product listing. This tells you the length, what size the model in the stock photo is wearing, and the model’s exact measurements! You can also find real-life reviews and pictures on most listings.

Tuckernuck Dresses I Own & Love
I’ve slowly started building up my collection of Tuckernuck pieces. These are more of an investment than clothing you might find from cheaper price point retailers like Amazon or Walmart.
However, it is reflected in the quality and design. You can keep these items in your closet for years and years.
For reference, I am 5’10 and typically wear a size medium/large.
Royal Shirt Dress
This is one of the most popular and well-known Tuckernuck styles. If you want to grab a timeless classic, this is it.
It is normally available in a few style variations. The newest arrival has an eyelet hem (shown below). They usually bring this style back in different prints every year, but the blue & white stripe has been on the site for a while. You may have seen it trending on social media!
This dress runs big. I would size down, especially if you are between sizes. It’s very comfortable and lightweight with side pockets. You can easily dress it up with wedges or down with sandals.
Pique May Polo Dress
If you need an outfit for running errands or everyday wear, this polo dress has become one of my favorite dresses. I’ve worn it out shopping, around the house, and even to formal appointments and work meetings.
This dress ran small on me, particularly under the arms, so I sized up in this style. I also prefer a more roomy fit in my casual dresses.
Similar polo styles are also available, but sizing may vary. The Pique Teller polo dress and the Pique Puff Sleeve Peggy polo are two pieces that have a similar look.
Embroidered Tate Dress
The Embroidered Tate dress is great for baby showers, graduations, and other special events.
You can find it in several different colors and even slightly different materials. This particular one is made from high-quality linen and cotton fabric with a premium liner, which makes it a little more expensive, along with the embroidery.
The Tate dress ran pretty true to size on me. However, the reviews say it runs slightly large, so you can likely size down if you are between sizes.

This is another dress that I’ve ordered and tried myself. Since I am 5’10”, it was just a little too short on me. However, the Callahan dress runs slightly big. If you are in between sizes, you can likely size down in this one.
This pick is available in long-sleeved and sleeveless options. It’s also available in different fabrics (Ex, Linen, 50% cotton/50% polyester), so don’t assume the same style will always have the same fabric. This is important when it comes to sizing!

Tweed Jackie Dress
You probably already guessed it, but this dress is named after the popular style icon, Jackie O. The tweed fabric dresses it up enough for work, but the shift style keeps it easy to wear around town.
Since the sizing is forgiving, most reviewers suggest ordering your regular size. One thing to note is that the fabric is on the heavier side, so it might not be ideal for outdoor parties or gatherings.

Chloe Dress
Sometimes, simple styles are the best. The Chloe dress fits true to size for most, but if you’re on the bustier side, going up a size might be a good idea for extra room in the top half.
If you’re not a fan of blue, the Chloe comes in a lot of colors. You can find this dress in black, bold red, crispy pink, and even a floral pattern!

Everyone needs a neutral throw-on-and-go dress in their coastal grandmother wardrobe. You can size down in this one or stick to your regular size if you love the flowy, relaxed fit.
Some dresses are better suited for cold or warmer weather, but this dress truly works year-round! The material is cool enough to wear in the spring or summer.

Equally feminine and modern, this eyelet dress is so easy to style. Just add sandals and a headband to complete the look. If you’re 5’10” or taller, this option may be a tad short on you.

If you’re looking to invest in one great dress to wear to both casual and dressy occasions, the Delaney is perfect. You can wear it with white sneakers for a day of shopping or style it with chunky statement jewelry and heels to a wedding. It’s the most versatile pick!

Another fantastic white dress, the Finley has flutter sleeves that are flattering on anyone! It also comes in solid colors if the eyelet isn’t your favorite.
This one tends to run slightly large. Your usual size can work if you love oversized fits for summer.

This dress has hundreds of five-star reviews, so you know it’s good! You can wear it to cocktail parties and luncheons. It’s a little heavy for outdoor summer events, but perfect indoors or in the fall or spring.
